Seoul, October 19, 2015 - PyeongChang 2018 adds a major boosts to its online promotion of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in China, where the 2022 Winter Games will be staged.

Today the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) launched the official Chinese website and opened the operation of the official account in Weibo, the most renowned SNS (Social Network Service) platform in China.

Beijing, China was recently announced as the host city of 2022 Olympic Winter Games and is known as the world's biggest nation in terms of the number of internet users (Approx. 650 million users). With the launch of new services in Chinese market, POCOG plans to strengthen its online promotion by providing a wide range information about the Games and communicating real-time with the rapidly growing number of winter sports fans in China.

To celebrate the launch of the new services, POCOG will hold a special event up to October 31, encouraging Weibo users to share the launch of PyeongChang 2018's official account through their own Weibo accounts. A number of gifts will be presented to select winners who excel at promoting the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games.

About POCOG
The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) will host the XXIII edition of the Olympic Winter Games on 9-25 February 2018. Over 80 countries and 6,000 athletes are expected to take part in the first Olympic Winter Games to be held in Asia in 20 years. Seven sports comprising 15 disciplines will be on the official program.
The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will take place on 9-18 March 2018, with approximately 50 countries and 690 athletes competing. Five sports are on the Paralympic program.
