PyeongChang 2018 Agrees to Form "Integration Working Group" with IOC

Seoul, March 1, 2015 - The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) has agreed to form an Integration Working Group with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to expedite its decision-making process, during the IOC Executive Board meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 27 February (local time).
The Integration Working Group will be composed of key stakeholders including POCOG, the IOC, winter sports International Federations, the central government of Korea and the regional government of Gangwon Province.  The new working group will kick off before the next IOC Coordination Commission visit to Korea mid-March, and will hold regular meetings at least once a month to discuss pending issues.

POCOG expects the Integration Working Group will enhance communication with the IOC and accelerate its preparations for the 2018 Winter Games by speeding up decision-making and improving work efficiency.
