PyeongChang, February 9, 2015 - The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) today celebrated its '3-years to go' milestone with an event dubbed 'One Day in PyeongChang' held at PyeongChang's Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre and site for the Olympic Stadium, with 500 participants, including representatives of the Korean government, national assembly, sports industry, local residents and POCOG staff.

In line with its efforts to raise awareness of the PyeongChang 2018 Games as well as create waves to make it a great success, POCOG provided today's participants with a chance to experience elements of the opening ceremony.

At the event, all participants came together to visualize lines and colors of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Emblem. This was followed by a 'One Heart Torch Relay', a three-party relay of over 3km from the Ski Jumping Centre to the Olympic Stadium site, for which a party of three - each representing POCOG, the central government and Gangwon Province - each jogged 300 meters.

Despite the severe cold weather, the 'Mini Opening Ceremony'and 'Time Capsule Sealing' programs, held at the Olympic Stadium site, received great response from participants.

During the Mini Opening Ceremony, Yang-Ho Cho, President of POCOG said "Today, all related stakeholders preparing for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games were able to feel the climate and be immersed in the atmosphere of the actual opening ceremony to be held in three years time." He also added, "By building seamless teamwork and widening understanding of each other, all organizations will be able to work more closely."

CHOI Moon-soon, Governor of Gangwon Province said, , "Celebrating G-3 years today, let us put our utmost efforts in making the PyeongChang 2018 Games as a successful festival that all of us can enjoy with the awareness of 'One Team, One Sprit and One Goal'."

KIM Jong, the 2nd Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said in his greeting speech that, "We are now at a critical point where the success of the Games will be determined, and everyone involved in the Games should consider themselves as a national representative and give their best. The Ministry will also try its best to best support the Games and upgrade the image of Korea and Gangwon Province."
