PYEONGCHANG, GANGWON - On Thursday, May 29, the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Games (POCOG) held a special event at the Alpensia Convention Center, inviting high-level representatives of foreign missions stationed in the Republic of Korea in order to brief them on the progress of PyeongChang's Games preparation as well as the International Dignitary Program and the Dream Programme.

In his welcome remark, POCOG President Jin-sun Kim said, "PyeongChang's preparation is on track. We're putting forth a lot of effort into creating a festival-like atmosphere during Games Time by highlighting characteristics of the host region. I'd like to ask for your support and also wish that you (ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions) be part of our journey."

The briefing was attended by ambassadors and deputy officials of 30 countries, including winter sports powerhouses like Austria, Norway, Finland, Germany and Canada, as well as Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Thailand.
