BELEK, TURKEY - Representatives of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are attending this year's SportAccord convention that plays host to many sports experts, including leaders of International Federations, NOCs, broadcasters and rights-holders, until Friday, April 11.

Director-General of Sports Pil-soon Park is leading the PyeongChang delegation, and the team has met or plans to meet with high-level officials of the international sports federations that are directly involved with the PyeongChang 2018 Games. So far, Park and his delegation have sat down with FIS President Gian-Franco Kasper, FIL President Josef Fendt, and FIBT President Ivo Ferriano, as well as IBU President Anders Besseberg, and WCF President Kate Caithness.

In those meetings, Director-General Park said, "Now that the Sochi Games are over, PyeongChang 2018 is shifting its preparation efforts into high gear. We expect that the construction of sports venues will start within one or two months, and that all newly-built ones will be completed by Test Events, according to our construction timeline. For better efficiency, our sports and venue management FAs will closely cooperate from the beginning of construction."

As the next host city of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, PyeongChang is starting to have the NOCs visit in order for them to be acquainted with the venue plan. The Canadian NOC came last year, and the USOC and the British Olympic Association (BOA) are expected to visit this year.
