PyeongChang House welcomes the 100,000th visitor fanning the excitement for the 2018 Winter Games

SOCHI - The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) held a commemorative ceremony as PyeongChang House welcomed the 100,000th visitor just 8 days after the opening on February 7th.

POCOG President J.S. Kim honored the lucky young lady, who is a ten-year-old local Sochi girl named Elizaveta, as she became the 100,000th visitor when she strolled into PyeongChang House with her parents and her triplet twin brothers on Saturday afternoon.

To mark the event she received flowers and some PyeongChang 2018 souvenirs from POCOG President J.S. Kim, and she said, "I am honored to be the 100,000th visitor at PyeongChang House."

Her family was thrilled and her father also expressed his joy and proclaimed "I have heard that the Republic of Korea is a beautiful country and we have been very interested to know more about it as they will host the next edition of the Olympic Winter Games. Through our visit to PyeongChang House, I have been able to learn a lot about Korean customs."

The visitors were treated to a musical performance by the "Flashe" singing and dancing girl Hallyu K-pop band.

Meanwhile, President Kim was applauded by the crowd as he expressed his wish to provide a free round-trip airfare ticket to the 201,800th visitor at PyeongChang House if he or she wishes to work as a volunteer at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

PyeongChang House has become one of the most popular hospitality Pavilions in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Park.
