FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wigan Race Circuit Invests in a New Fleet of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) fuelled karts in Bid to Be the North West's No 1 Circuit.
A £110k investment in LPG Technology ensures it’s a WIN, WIN, WIN, for Race Drivers, Local Residents & Three Sisters Race Circuit. Lower emissions and reduced noise pollution will help set benchmark for North West karting.
Wigan based race circuit Three Sisters has invested £110k in a brand new fleet of pro-karts. The company has purchased 23 SODI GT5 karts due for delivery on 1st July. The fleet, which utilise LPG (Liquified petroleum gas) fuel, will ensure the circuit remains the leader in karting in the North West of England.
The SODI GT5 karts, renowned in the industry for being the most successful and effective rental kart on the market, has a 360cc engine and is capable of 70mph. But it’s the use of LPG technology which will give Three Sisters a massive advantage over competitors and help them set the benchmark for karting in the region.
LPG is non-corrosive, non-toxic and has a high octane rating. It also has less emissions when compared to regular fuels and burns more cleanly, all of which means that there is less wear and tear on the engine and it is less likely to suffer problems. Good news for drivers who want to go fast for longer periods of time. Local residents will also be pleased since noise emissions are lower with LPG than diesel.
Commenting, Peter Barnes, Managing Director of Three Sisters: “These karts are fantastic and the whole Three Sisters team is excited to be able to offer them to customers. I am in no doubt that their introduction will help us grow our business. Their ergonomic design, technical capability and guaranteed reliability will allow us to look at introducing new products, such as 12 hour endurance races.”
The timing of the purchase is ideal since Three Sisters is an outdoor track, so the summer months are its busiest time. All drivers will benefit from driving the new karts, whether new to karting or a real enthusiast, as the old fleet is being retired. With its patented pedals that are fully adjustable in ultra-quick time, juniors will also be able to use the karts as long as they reach the minimum height requirement of 4ft11”.
