World's Best Pentathletes Arrive in Russia for UIPM World Cup #4

The world's best Pentathlete's are heading east to Rostov, Russia for World Cup #4 on 19-22 April 2012
The Rostov World Cup is the last World Cup of the year and the final opportunity for the Pentathletes to gain valuable World Cup ranking points to qualify them for the lucrative World Cup Final in Chengdu, China next month which will be key for their Olympic qualification.
Rostov, the home of double Olympic champion Andrei Moiseev will be hosting a World Cup for the first time and the local crowd will be out in force to celebrate Modern Pentathlon which has such a rich history in Russia.
UIPM Secretary General Joël Bouzou stated: "UIPM always loves coming back to Russia. The Russian Federation headed by Viacheslav Aminov hosted a very special World Championships last year and we are confident this World Cup will be also something the UIPM family will never forget.
UIPM strives to bring Modern Pentathlon to new cities. In 2012 we have already done this for Charlotte at World Cup #1, so we are thrilled to add Rostov to the Modern Pentathlon family."
The huge Rostov crowd expected will be coming to watch one man.. Andrei Moiseev. The current Olympic, World and European Champion has become the biggest name in Rostov with all his success and will want to give them a show. The big Russian stated at the Press Conference:
"For sure it is good to compete at home. On one hand this is very comfortable for me. On the other another hand it is extra mental pressure to perform due to lots of my friends, relatives and close and people who I know will be on the tribune expecting me to do well. It is hard to say it is going to help or not. I know for sure that I will compete as the best that I can."
As usual Moiseev's biggest rivals will be his team mates and fellow World Champions Ilia Frolov and Serguei Karyakin. The 4th member of the awesome foursome Aleksander Lesun will stay back in Moscow as his wife just gave birth to his first child.
With a lot of the top stars sitting out, it is the perfect time for athletes such as Thomas Daniel (AUT), Remigiuz Gois (POL) and Sam Weale (GBR) to earn crucial ranking points which will ensure them a place in the World Cup Final & ultimately the Olympic Games.
World Cup #4 will provide Yane Marques (BRA) the ideal platform to finally win her 1st World Cup gold medal. The likable Brazilian has gone close on many occasions, and with her biggest rivals staying at home this is her time to shine. However World Cup #1 bronze medallist Anastaysia Prokopenko (BLR) and 2008 Olympic silver medallist Heather Fell (GBR) will be doing their best to make sure Marques does not get that dream gold medal.
Fans around the world will have the chance to watch these and other great athletes live and share in the excitement of Modern Pentathlon. UIPM will broadcast the finals live on Pentathlon TV at on 21-22 April 2012.  The broadcast will feature the ride, combined event and medal ceremony live and highlights of the fencing and swimming.
The Russian World Cup is the fourth in a series of five events in the coming two months which will culminate in the World Cup final to be held in Chengdu, China on 26-27 May 2012.
