With the two American World Cup's now completed, the world's best all round athletes now head to Százhalombatta, Hungary for Modern Pentathlon's World Cup #3 to be held on 12-15 April 2012.
A massive field of 180 athletes are making the trip to Hungary, as they battle for World Cup Series points in order to qualify for the lucrative World Cup Final in Chengdu, China which could be the key for their 2012 Olympic Qualification.
Hungary has organised a UIPM World Cup since 1963 so it is truly a historic event. The first champion in 1963 was no other than 2 times Olympic Champion Dr. Ferenc Török. The current Hungarian Champions will be hoping to follow in their famous hero's footsteps on home soil.
UIPM Secretary General Joël Bouzou stated: "UIPM is very excited about coming back to Hungary for this World Cup. Hungary really is a temple for Modern Pentathlon, and always hosts extremely high level events. I am sure the public will be out in force to see the world's best pentathletes perform and those that can't make it will be able to watch the event live on Hungarian TV and read in the newspapers as this event is always very well covered by the media."
The 100+ men competing, will have one common goal, to stop the Russian domination. The Russian men won 4 out of the 6 medals available from World Cup #1 and #2 led by World Cup #1 and World Cup #2 Champions Ilia Frolov and Aleksander Lesun. The ominous sign for the rest of the field is that current Olympic, European and World Champion Andrei Moiseev is the only Russian not to grab a medal and is due for a big performance.

Triple World Champion Amelie Caze (FRA) is returning to the scene that she broke down 12 months ago and ruined her 2011 campaign. After this injury, Caze competed for the first time at World Cup #2 last month where she lacked fitness and finished a disappointing 10th. Caze's team mate Elodie Clouvel (FRA) jumped out of her shadow in Rio to win her first World Cup in style. The young French women will be hoping to fight off competition from World #1 Lena Schonebotrn (GER) and the new Australian sensation Chloe Esposito (AUS) to make it an unlikely double gold.
The big Hungarian crowd will be cheering on an extremely strong Hungarian team to the top of the podium. They will be led by 2009 World Champion and World #2 Adam Marosi (HUN) who has not yet showed his best form in 2012 and World #3 Robert Kasza who is making his first World Cup appearance of the year after recovering from injury he sustained earlier in the year.
The Hungarian women will also have their eyes set on gold. Leila Gyenesei desperately needs a good result as she looks to jump over her younger team mates Sarolta Kovacs (World #7) and Adrian Toth (World #13) in the race to London Olympic Games qualification.
Fans around the world will have the chance to watch these and other great athletes live and share in the excitement of Modern Pentathlon. UIPM will broadcast the finals live on Pentathlon TV at on 14-15 April 2012.  The broadcast will feature the ride, combined event and medal ceremony live and highlights of the fencing and swimming.
The Hungarian World Cup is the third in a series of five events in the coming two months which will culminate in the World Cup final to be held in Chengdu, China on 26-27 May 2012.
Competition Schedule:
12 April - Women's Qualification Competition
