The web-based course, "Strategies to Address NCAA Compliance Hot Topics for the 2011-12 School Year", will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, from 12 noon to 1:00 pm EDT (9:00 am to 10:00 am PDT). Program Summary

The webinar will provide compliance staff, general counsel and other higher-educational professionals with additional tools needed to address rules-compliance "hot topics", recently-passed NCAA legislation and infractions decisions that may impact universities during the 2011-12 academic year. In fact, workshop participants will review the results of a specially-commissioned survey, as well as infractions decisions, new legislation, media reports and other resources to explore the following issues:

1. What rules-compliance strategies can be developed using an objective analysis of recent NCAA enforcement cases?

2. What "hot topics" (and strategies to each) were identified by university administrators in the national survey?

3. What measures can schools use to demonstrate compliance with new NCAA legislation (including the new 9-hour rule for FBS and FCS football)?

4. What procedures should universities use to address rules-compliance issues involving high-profile student-athletes, head coaches, local merchants and sports agents?
