KAMPERLAND, June 21st, 2011: During the weekend of June 17th to 19th, 2011, female kiters from the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Germany took the opportunity to participate in a special charity event in the KB4girls 2011 World Tour in Kamperland/Netherlands.

Aiming to support women with breast cancer, the participants collected € 1.300 for Stichting Amazones and will continue raising funds through their personal fundraising pages and personal donations over the next couple of weeks.

Being one of the windiest events KB4girls has ever seen, the participating women had a full 3 days of wind. This enabled them to pushed each other to the next level under the professional supervision and coaching of 9x world champion Kristin Boese in both the advanced and the beginner clinic.

The local organizers Windtown und Xwatersports Center chose the spots on a daily basis in terms of wind directions and training quality. Theory and simulator training as well as a safety briefing complemented the individual learning progresses.

The first day offered a perfect start for all skill levels in excellent flat water conditions in Ouwekerke. On day 2 the advanced kiters trained in Neeltje Jans under tough conditions with wind waves and 24-38 knots. With up to 28 knots, Oostvoorne West provided the best shallow and flat water to offer a steady area for the newly learned tricks and kiting skills during the last day.

Participant Silke Noll stated: "The 1500 km drive through Europe was really worth it. It was a great week-end that brought every single girl forward according to her personal skill level and objectives. Plus I got to know so many nice girls with the same passion for kite-surfing. We will stay in touch and kite together in the future for sure. No matter where we are located."

Congrats go out to a number of people: fundraising queens Nathalie Lubbe and Jessica Wensink; the most advanced riders of the event Simone Guck and Liesbeth Willaert in the group of the most advanced kiters; Evelien Pegge and Saskia Weiss for the less advanced; Silke Noll and Anne-Sofie Sehested in the beginners group; an Silke Gorldt Spirit Award winner Annemarie Nadort. A special thank-you goes to the all the volunteers Martin, Aaron, Bart, Andy, Guy, Mers, Amber and Nina who helped to made this weekend possible.

The KB4girls foundation and their worldwide tour is supported by Best Kiteboarding and DaKine.

About KB4girls
KB4girls is a non-profit worldwide clinic tour for female kiteboarders that was launched in November 2009 by Kristin Boese. While the tour gives female athletes from around the world the chance to get together for a fun time together it also motivates them to push their kiteboarding skills to the next level and possibly start to compete in kiteboarding.

Another goal of the KB4girls events is to support the Surfrider Foundation Europe and the protection of the oceans and beaches. While registration fees are being donated to the Foundation educational materials are being supplied in return and given out to all participating girls, teaching them about their precious playgrounds and how to possibly help to protect them.
