KB4girls is "Aiming for the stars" by teaming up with the Layne Beachley foundation

Inspiring girls by empowering female kiters

TAMPA/LONDON/PERTH, March 24th, 2011: The “KB4girls” foundation and the “Aim for the Stars” foundation follow the same mission - to support females on their way to reach their personal goals and dreams. They now join forces to fulfill even more dreams and support young females on their way to success.

The Layne Beachley “Aim for the Stars” foundation was created in 2003 by 7 time Surfing World Champion, Layne Beachley herself. It was created to inspire girls and women across Australia (Layne's home country) to dream and achieve.

Having experienced the financial pressures of supporting her professional surfing career, Layne set out to establish a foundation offering assistance for those who need some extra help to achieve their ambitions. She says:  “It is a hard task to be the best at your chosen aspiration when you are busy trying to substitute your income or do your school work. There were plenty of moments when I wanted to quit but I cannot begin to imagine where I would be now if I let money dictate my love for surfing.”

The Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Foundation was built to prevent girls and women alike from having to go through this same amount of adversity. Encompassing academic, sport, cultural and community pursuits, Aim for the Stars offers ambitious and dedicated females an opportunity to receive financial and moral support to help them achieve their goals.

The KB4girls foundation on the other hand was launched by 9 time Kiteboarding World Champion Kristin Boese with the goal to support females in the sport and give them more recognition in a male dominated world.

In fundraising events the KB4girls foundation now also reaches out to girls and women in need around the world and partners with national foundations. In Australia KB4girls’ has chosen the “Aim for the Stars” foundation to be the benefiting charity of their fundraising event taking place from December 17th to 18th, 2011 in Perth.

Kristin Boese says: “With our KB4girls' events we follow 2 goals. The first one is to support females in the sport of kiteboarding and give female kiteboarding more recognition. The second one is to support other girls and women in need through fundraising events. For those fundraising events we carefully choose local or national association that we believe do essential work, particularly for females. When I read about Layne and the “Aim for the Stars” foundation in a magazine I felt as if we had the exact same goals and motivations and I could not be any more excited about our cooperation.”

All female kiteboarders participating in the KB4girls event in Perth in December of this year will be asked to set up their own personal fundraising page and collect donations from their family and friends that will then benefit the “Aim for the Stars” foundation and their cause to support dedicated females of Australia to achieve their goals.

The KB4girls foundation and their worldwide tour is supported by Best Kiteboarding and DaKine.

The KB4Girls tour schedule 2011 reads as follows:
