Fundraising Drive for Japan and New Zealand during SportAccord Convention

London, 3 April 2011 - During SportAccord Convention in London, SportAccord Convention and SportAccord will do a fundraising drive to help rebuild sport in Japan and New Zealand.

Delegates are encouraged to support the Earthquake Relief Fund to help with the sports-related recovery process in northeast Japan and Christchurch, New Zealand. There is a large vase in the lobby of the hotel where delegates can deposit their contributions.

An online link will also be sent to delegates after the Convention to enable them to contribute.

For the distribution of the raised funds SportAccord and SportAccord Convention will work closely together with the IOC who is in contact with both the Japanese and the New Zealand NOCs and currently examines ways to assist the countries after the devastating earthquakes and tsunami in a most effective manner.
