Evan Turner, the 2010 college basketball player of the year and second pick overall in the NBA draft, has joined forces with XCO SportsLink LLC to develop a smartphone application that will provide fans with exclusive access into his life off the court. The announcement was made by XCO SportsLink and Turner’s agent David Falk, founder of Falk Associates Management Enterprises (FAME).

With access to exclusive video, audio, photos, blog postings, and interactive material, “ET Mobile,” which is set to launch in March, will feature a behind-the-scenes look at all aspects of Turner’s life, from basketball to appearances to life on the road. Turner will be able to share his favorite memories with fans as well as other backstage content such as game day rituals, playlists, and personal photos.

“I am excited to launch the official Evan Turner app and share my personal experiences with the fans in a unique way,” said Turner. “They will see an open door of my life in the NBA and have access to lots of exciting and interesting content along the way.”

The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Turner with the second pick in the 2010 NBA draft after a stellar collegiate season.  As a rookie, the Chicago native is averaging7.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.  Turner averaged 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 6 assists per game leading Ohio State to the co-Championship of the Big Ten regular season, and a Big Ten Tournament Championship.  His impressive play and leadership earned Turner a multitude of accolades, including the Wooden, Naismith, Robertson, Fox Sports, NABC, TSN, and AP Player of the Year awards.

"Evan wants to connect with his fans in both an intimate and interactive way,” said Falk.  “We believe that by offering an app featuring exclusive access to Evan’s trials and tribulations, fans will have an opportunity to thoroughly understand what life is like for a professional athlete.  Evan has a great personality and will be fun to follow throughout the season and during his off-season.”

XCO believes Turner is an ideal athlete to showcase his life with an app.  Turner is well-rounded and personable, and the app will not only help him connect better with his community but will also provide opportunities for his corporate partners in an interactive and creative way.

The app, being developed by XCO SportsLink, will be available for free, for the iPhone ™, iPad™, and iPod Touch™ and will allow Turner to interact with his fans more easily as he will be able to regularly update. XCO SportsLink has developed apps for the Charlotte Bobcats, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers, George Mason University, Bobby Labonte, the Charleston RiverDogs, Fort Myers Miracle, Hudson Valley Renegades, and St. Paul Saints.

“Evan’s app will combine aspects of social media and reality TV, yet it will be rooted to the NBA season,” said Alan Hayman, president of XCO SportsLink.  “I think basketball fans will really enjoy following as Evan discovers life in the NBA.”
