University of North Dakota Retains No. 1 Ranking in USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of North Dakota retains its No. 1 ranking in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll following a weekend sweep of Michigan Tech University. North Dakota, which improved to 26-8-3, collected 503 points and 29 first-place votes to earn the top spot for the third week in a row.

Boston College claims the No. 2 spot with 480 points and five first-place votes after twice defeating the University of New Hampshire last weekend, while the idle Yale University sits at No. 3 with 438 points. Union College (394) and the University of Michigan (374) remain in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots.

Western Michigan University returns to the poll at No. 15 after a three-week hiatus.

Highlighting this weekend's games is one top-15 match-up between No. 9 Merrimack College and No. 14 University of Maine in the Hockey East quarterfinals.

This weekend marks the quarterfinals for each of the five NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, including Hockey East, ECAC Hockey, Atlantic Hockey, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
