RATP Group announces its support for Annecy 2018

The RATP Group commits to close involvement with the Annecy bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics

The RATP Group is the world's sixth largest public transport provider, and is committing to close involvement with the Annecy bid to host the 2018 Olympics by becoming a "supporter". With its city and intercity transport networks (underground systems, regional train networks, buses and trams), RATP is present in more than 30 cities, conurbations and regions, both in France and 12 other countries. Every day RATP transports more than 10 million passengers in the Paris region, and so will above all contribute its expertise to the implementation of the French bid's transport plan.

"We are delighted to welcome the arrival of a new sponsor, yet again demonstrating the level of economic support behind the French bid. RATP Group is the sixth "supporter" to join the Annecy 2018 marketing programme. It's a real asset to have a public transport expert working alongside us, with experience in managing transport and passengers," announced Christian Monteil, Chairman of the Annecy 2018 Supervisory Board and President of the Haute-Savoie General Council.

"We have wide experience of sporting events on an international scale, following partnerships with the 1998 Football World Cup and the 2003 Athletics World Championships in Paris, and roles as a transport systems contractor at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and the 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa. RATP Group is delighted to be supporting the Annecy bid," adds Jean-Marc Janaillac, Executive Director for Development at RATP Group. "Thanks to Ratp Dev, our subsidiary which operates the public transport network for Annemasse and its surrounding area (12 districts) in Haute-Savoie, RATP Group has considerable specific experience throughout Annecy 2018's footprint."

This partnership means RATP Group will provide local transport solutions as well as advertising space across its Paris region networks (Metro, bus, tram and suburban trains) to ensure the bid receives the best possible national exposure.
