DOHA DRESSED IN COLOURS AS AFC ASIAN CUP QATAR 2011™ STARTS FRIDAY JAN. 7

Color coded branding has Doha alive with color at the start of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011.

DOHA, January 6 - On the eve of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™, Doha is alive with colour, thanks to a level of sports branding never before seen.

The Local Organising Committee (QLOC) has not only colour-coded match tickets and each of the stadia to be used during the tournament, but has also placed hundreds of street signs with the slogan “GAME ON!” and colour-coded markings along the roads of the Qatari capital.  It all adds up to smoothing the way for spectators to arrive at their chosen matches.

The matching coloured street signs and markings originate from the major hotels, converging in the central Corniche area to create a rainbow of colour, then branching outwards to each stadium.

The five stadia colours are:

Purple - Khalifa Stadium
Green - Al-Sadd Stadium
Red - Al-Rayyan Sports Club
Blue - Al-Gharafa Sports Club and
Golden Yellow - Qatar Sports Club

The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™ features the national teams of: Qatar; Kuwait; China PR; Uzbekistan; Saudi Arabia; Japan; Jordan; Syria; Korea Rep.; India; Australia; Bahrain; Iraq; DPR Korea; UAE and IR Iran.

Tickets for the AFC Asian Cup are on sale through the official website, www.afcasiancup.com and at special locations around Doha: Villaggio Mall, Gate 4, near the food court; Landmark Mall, Entrance 6, near Carrefour; City Center Mall, Level 1, near the ice skating rink; and The Mall, near the food court.
