THE CHARLOTTE BOBCATS SELECT XCO SPORTSLINK TO LAUNCH SMARTPHONE APPLICATIONS FOR FANS

The Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA have selected XCO SportsLink to provide their mobile application platform to launch for the 2010-2011 season. The Bobcats app will enhance their fans in-arena and out-of-arena experiences.

Charlotte, NC, December 21, 2010 - The Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association have selected XCO SportsLink to provide their mobile application platform to launch for the 2010-2011 season. The Bobcats app will launch on January 3, 2011 and enhance their fans in-arena and out-of-arena experiences with exclusive behind-the-scenes content, team information, fan promotions, social networking, and in-arena location features to easily find concessions, facilities, and local attractions.

The XCO SportsLink solution offers a wide range of features, analytics, and technology services that will enable the Bobcats to create and manage their own content so that fans can easily download dynamic applications to their smartphones. All content will be available through a cell carrier or Wi-Fi network connection to a fan’s smartphone and will also provide off-line capability.

By leveraging new technology to connect with fans, the Bobcats have positioned themselves as leaders in the sports industry. The app will initially be available for download for the iPhone™, iPod Touch™, Android, BlackBerry™, all launching early in 2011.  The aim of these mobile apps is to connect Bobcats fans with an expanding audience of smartphone users which now number over 58 million in the U.S.  The Bobcats app will serve as a direct window into team news, special offers, and exclusive content. 

The Bobcats app will include:

• Integration of Twitter, Facebook and Cover It Live blog
• In-depth player and coaching staff profiles
• Unique behind the scenes video showcasing Bobcats players and cheerleaders
• Exclusive Bobcats features, blogs, and photos and bios of players and the front office
• Location features to find the nearest concessions, facilities, and special services
• Coupons and promotions
• Bobcats game calendar
• Bobcats photo gallery
• League scoreboard
• Bobcats noisemaker
