MUNICH 2018 CONTINUES LAND USE NEGOTIATIONS - PROJECT COMPLETELY GUARANTEED

Negotiations and talks are in progress

Munich, 14 December 2010: The Munich 2018 Bid Committee today confirmed that any remaining opposition from landowners in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will not endanger the bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2018. Negotiations and talks are still in progress with the small percentage of landowners whose properties are impacted by the visionary plans; the majority of landowners in Garmisch-Partenkirchen remain unaffected.

Whilst most landowners and the rest of the local community recognise that Munich 2018 will ensure a sustainable economic and social legacy for the region, the Munich 2018 Bid Committee will continue open dialogue with the remaining uncommitted landowners in order to secure the best possible financial arrangement for those concerned.

With efficient contingency plans in place and continued support from Bavarian State Minister, Siegfried Schneider, Munich 2018 have all necessary agreements in place to ensure 100% delivery of our plans to host a Festival of Friendship for the world in 2018.
