Holland strengthens relationship with SportAccord Convention
Holland strengthens its relationship with the SportAccord community by becoming a Bronze Sponsor to the SportAccord Convention. After participating to the 2010 Dubai edition, Holland Moves will be back in London 2011.
Marije Dippel, Director of the International Office of the Dutch NOC is delighted with the renewed cooperation with SportAccord Convention. “The SportAccord Convention offers a fantastic platform to maintain a warm relationship with the international sporting community. Both from an NOC point of view, representing the national sporting federations, as for the 5 cities involved. The convention offers a great opportunity to share experiences and discuss future possibilities of hosting international sports events.”
During SportAccord 2011, NOC*NSF will be present together with the cities of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven and the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions. Using Holland Moves for this joined presentation, the Dutch delegates are representing the most important host cities and venues of The Netherlands.
Becoming a sponsor to the SportAccord Convention is in line with the national ambition to host more international sports events in Holland and to be amongst the top European countries with regard to hosting sport events by 2016. This ambition is an integral part of a bigger plan - the Olympic Plan 2028 - for which there is widespread support in the Netherlands. The Olympic Plan is all about raising what Holland has to offer to a higher level. To Olympic level. It is a plan of which the legacy already started at the launch in 2009
Holland recently hosted major international events such as the World Championships Gymnastics 2010 and the European Short course Swimming Championships 2010. And as a renowned cycling country Holland was a very suitable host for, the start of both the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia in 2010. Upcoming events are amongst others the World Championship Table Tennis 2011, The European Championships Dressage 2011, the European Olympic Festival 2013 and the men’s and women’s World Championship Hockey 2014. Holland is committed to international sport events and ready to host the world.
