FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The ICF Bidding Process has Opened

The bidding process for awarding the ICF’s official events for 2013 to 2015 and other unallocated event began earlier in the month of October.

Interested parties are invited to submit their bid, and the Bid Questionnaire by 28 February 2011, in time for the ICF Board of Directors to allocate these events during their meeting in Paris, France in April 2011.

The ICF believes that in order to grow, the ICF family needs to build strong relationships with sponsors, TV Broadcasters and other service providers and deliver quality Events that will benefit all parties; the Event Organisers, the National Federation and the ICF, and of course fans and athletes. As a general guideline, the ICF World Cups are decided a minimum of 2 years before the competition and the ICF World Championships 4 years in advance.

In keeping with the ICF’s slogan, 'Always moving forward'. future organisers will be those who are able to align their objectives with the federation. From the outset, the organisers and the ICF will need to build a strong base and commit to a partnership over the course of the event preparation. To help with this, bidding documents have been drafted to provide the potential Organising Committee with information on the different stages of event preparation.

Among the documentation is the Bid Questionnaire, which should be submitted to the ICF by 28 February 2011. This will give ICF Headquarters and Technical Chairs sufficient time to prepare the evaluation and recommendations for the Board of Directors’ Meeting.
