National Swimming Center Corporation joins 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention

The National Swimming Center Corporation (NSCC), a non-profit sports development corporation has agreed to become an Official Partner to the 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention, which starts today.

The NSCC supports new aquatics sports facilities development and the adaptive re-use or renovation of existing infrastructure in the United States. All NSCC projects are aquatic centered, however, the NSCC concept weds some of the best ideas from arena planning ensuring venues are multi-purpose, deliver entertainment and are sustainable yet still able to deliver elite aquatic sport competitions.

“We want to be the nation’s leader in aquatic facilities development for sporting events and the provision of activities that improve community health and wellness,” commented John McIlhargy, NSCC Executive Director. “Our facilities will also be world class venues capable of hosting World Championship events and training camps so the opportunity to promote these facilities, which are due to open in 2012, to FINA and all National Federations at the FINA World Aquatics Convention is perfect timing for us. I’m looking forward to introducing our facilities and concept to everyone involved in this great sport”.

The 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention will gather together 500 aquatic industry leaders in Punta del Este, Uruguay, 27 - 29 September. The Convention will include a comprehensive programme of meetings, conference sessions and networking events accompanying a dynamic exhibition to help participants learn, share knowledge and network effectively to accelerate the growth and development of aquatic sport around the world.
