TheSport 4X4
The 2010 TheSport 4X4, Beach 4X4 International Tournament and Festival, scheduled for Oct, 2010 in Clearwater Florida has been canceled due to the potential negative economic impact, caused by the BP oil spill and the continued bad press that has been compounded by a second and minor incident.
Co-founder and inventor of TheSport 4X4, Bruce Keffer says the decision was made to pull the plug for several reasons, each positive aspect brought forth during the decision process was trumped by the continues media frenzy that has tainted the view, vendors, players, and spectator tourist, have of the current and immediate future condition of Florida beaches.
All vendors and event staff that have been previously contacted for service are encouraged to file a claim for lost income due to the cancellation of the event. All legitimate claims will be considered and verified through the GCCF-claims.com website.
"The GCCF-Claims administrator offered the following advice.
Individuals or businesses should file claims for loss of earnings or profits they have sustained themselves, not for losses sustained by employees or others. Those persons should file their own claims."
The cancellation of the Beach 4X4 Tournament and Festival is a major blow to the recruiting, marketing and sales efforts of TheSport 4X4 inc. as the Beach 4X4 tournament would have seen the debut of two exciting redesigned Speed and Championship sets, a advertiser friendly Sport Appliance and the 90% green version of TheSport 4x4 Speed & Championship courts. In addition 90 percent of the annual revenue or more would have been generated by equipment sales, TV rights and distribution. We hated to do it, but unlike Beach Volleyball with a set schedule that encompasses many month our event was to be the first in a decade, and offer the largest flying disc sport purse in history. What we are doing now is taking survival and recovery steps to ensure that 2011 enhances the growth of TheSport 4x4. Keffer closed by saying, during our 1987 South American drug educational campaign we faced far greater obstacles but still delivered the drug educational method while thrilling crowds with a disc sport. But how can you fight the perception having beaches tainted with oil when the media strengths the phobia each day.
