FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Conti to be the Official Ball Supplier for the 2010 ICF Canoe Polo World Championships
The ICF in conjunction with its Canoe Polo Technical Committee is delighted to announce that Conti are now the Official ICF Canoe Polo Ball Sponsor, having signed an exclusive four year deal with the ICF.
This will mean Conti balls will be used at all the World and Continental Championships from now until 2014.
Using Conti’s water polo ball, teams will be pleased to hear these balls are made from an especially blended compound of rubber for perfect grip and a tacky feeling in the water. This tactile material is made more prominent after 2-3 minutes of the ball being on the water and this effect is achieved thanks to the long lasting rubber, which is covered with a rough finish for better handling. The material is nylon wound with double-ply butyl bladder. Together this compound gives the ultimate grip and durability.
Started in 1969, Conti started producing 500 balls per day, now turning out more than 5,000 daily, it is a clear market leader. Conti is also approved by other sports such as FIBA (Basketball) and FIFA (Football). Conti now provides balls in various other sporting arenas including volleyball, water polo, gymnastics, korfball, handball, and dodge ball.
In its mission to be the recognised leader in ball equipment of the sporting goods industry, Conti has dedicated itself to customer service and maintaining a firm commitment to quality, innovation and creativity. Such is their commitment to their customers, Conti was the obvious choice for the ICF's Canoe Polo Technical Committee.
About this new partnership, ICF Canoe Polo Technical Chair, Greg Smale says; “In 2009 we saw the Conti ball being used at the Asian Championships We were immediately impressed and having extensive technical experience in Canoe Polo for many years it seemed an ideal choice to choose Conti as our ball provider. I can only praise Conti for their professional approach to supporting Canoe Polo and look forward to working with them over the next four years.”
Mr. Yang, Wei-Chao (Paul) - Vice president of Conti Sports told the ICF; “Conti, as a professional canoe polo ball manufacturer, is very pleased with the corporation with ICF.
