Diplomat Michèle Ramis joins the team for Annecy 2018
Michèle Ramis has been the Ambassador for France in Guatemala since 2008.
French diplomat Michèle Ramis has been appointed to the Annecy 2018 bid committee, with a view to strengthening the candidate city’s International Relations team alongside Edgar Grospiron, Olympic Champion and CEO of the Annecy 2018 bid, and the various other experts on the committee.
A career diplomat, Michèle Ramis has held several positions within the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. She has also worked abroad, notably in the French Embassies in Bogota and Mexico City, as well as serving as Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations in Vienna and Geneva. Since September 2008, Michèle Ramis has been the Ambassador for France in Guatemala.
Edgar Grospiron, CEO of the Annecy 2018 bid, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Michèle Ramis into our candidacy team. Her superb knowledge of international circles, her expertise and her experience as a top-level diplomat will be a major asset for France’s bid to organise the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
The French government’s announcement that Michèle Ramis would be made available to help with the bid, reiterating the commitment shown to Annecy 2018, was made during the Annual Ambassadors Conference, held in Paris on 25th August. Michèle Ramis will start her new job on 1st September.

- 11/01/11: submission of candidature files and guarantees, followed by site visits from the IOC Evaluation Commission
- 06/07/11: designation of the host city for the 2018 Olympics and Paralympics in Durban
