SportAccord World Combat Games accompanied by a rich Cultural Program

Lausanne/Beijing Aug 23: The SportAccord World Combat Games are accompanied by a rich Cultural Program.




"We want to have Games that are more than just sport,” says Hein Verbruggen, President of SportAccord. That is why the Combat Games will feature a Cultural Program that reflects the ancient traditions and values of the 13 participating sports and their contribution to modern society.
All activities are built around the major theme “The Art of Combat - Friendship and Determination”, and there will be a Forum with renowned speakers on August 26, 2010 as well as thematic exhibitions. They will be framed by various cultural activities such as stage performances of musical bands, small scale concerts, and folk craft displays like pottery and calligraphy.
