IT'S EASIER NOW TO GET MONEY FOR WORLD CUP BETTING AND TO WIN MONEY ON YOUR BETS

There probably was some fixing by criminal gamblers in the first round of World Cup soccer (football). FIFA has not properly or openly addressed this issue. As a result, bettors may have unfairly lost money through no fault of bookies or sports books. Now

FIFA’a Dirty Little Secret—Fixing

TORONTO, Canada
June 28, 2010

World Cup bettors (punters as they’re called in Britain and Australia) may have lost money needlessly. FIFA fumbled the ball by failing to adequately address its dirty little secret—some game fixing has probably been going on up to now.

The 1982 game between Cameroon and Italy was reported to have been fixed, ie some Cameroon players bribed. In the 1990 World Cup, FIFA referees were hidden in a maximum security facility, and they still got phone calls offering them bribes. In 2006, players on the Ghana team were reported as bribed.

This was described in Declan Hill’s expose 2008 book:  “The Fix”. Hill, an international award-winning Canadian journalist, states in his blog that gambling fixers have descended upon South Africa for the World Cup 2010. Hill explains how a fix doesn’t necessarily mean that the better team throws the game. Often it means that the weaker team just allows itself to be defeated by two goals or better. It’s the point spread that creates the profit potential.

Weird Goings On In the First Round Could Have Been Affected by Fixing

The weird results in this year’s first round, the disappointing performance of many great players, and the slew of bad refereeing calls makes eyebrows rise. Perhaps there was some fixing in the first round.

But don’t blame the bookies or sports books. Surprises cost them money. There are fixers tied to the criminal underworld who specialize in using women, drugs, cash and intimidation to get players and officials to go along. Then they make bets that “take” the bookies and sport books.

Poor teams, such as Honduras and most African teams, pay their players peanuts—or nothing at all. This leaves their players very susceptible to be tempted or seduced into accepting cash bribes.

FIFA has an “Early Warniing System” in place designed to indicate possible fixing, but they were shown by Declan Hill how it is inadequate to really prevent such corruption. FIFA doesn’t even want to pay the players directly, which would help matters. By the way, I’m not accusing or seeking to cast aspersions on any specific team or official.

Round of 16 Should Be Easier to Make Winning Bets

Now that the really weak teams have been all but eliminated, things should become more stable. Players will be more used to the erratic Jabulani ball being used. They might be adjusted to the deafening vuvuzelas—perhaps by partial hearing loss. The game outcomes are more serious and urgent. Referees know they’re under closer scrutiny. So fixing should substantially decline from the World Cup scene for the remainder of the 2010 games.

Bettors can now proceed to bet on the World Cup games and side bets with confidence. It should now be easier to make money at World Cup betting. But bettors should still watch out for point spreads, especially in games where fixing might be possible.

What Games’ Point Spreads Should Be Watched Extra-Carefully

Hill, in his blog, cautions us to watch out for:
1. Games where one team has nothing to play for. In other words, even if they win, that team would not go on to the next level of the games.
2.. Teams which just don’t pay their players adequately or fairly. These players know that the officials are well paid. So they feel exploited. They then become tempted by offers of bribes to fix games.

Bettors/Punters Can Raise Cash For A Fresh Round of World Cup Betting

To win money, you need to have money to bet. If bettors have lost money in the first round—maybe because of fixing—FIFA won’t help. Or bettors might be low in cash because of the recession. But there is help a click away. A free e-book is available to help them raise cash for betting in many alternative ways, along with a free ezine with info and tips to raise cash fast, at http://www.getmoneyforworldcupbetting.com/
