Las Vegas, NV - July 21st - 25th, 2010—The best Jugglers from all over the world will converge in Las Vegas to compete in over 25 competitions at the 2010 World Juggling Federation Convention (WJF 6). 15 year-old Australian Cody Harrington won an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas to compete in the Juniors Competition by winning the WJF video sponsorship competition. A new aggressive team sport known as “Major League Combat” will debut at WJF 6 which promises to be the most dangerous juggling competition to date. Free juggling lessons will be available, giving everyone a chance to increase the white and grey matter in their brain.

About Us

The World Juggling Federation launched their organization in 2004 with a six-day convention and five-program broadcast on ESPN 2 hosted by Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller. The goal of the organization is to promote the sport of juggling while increasing the skill level world-wide. By 2008, the Juniors competitors (age 15 or younger) had a higher level of skill than the advanced competitors of 2004. This year we’ll witness a new crop of Juniors Division competitors working their way up the competition ladder as the 2008 Juniors try their skills in the Intermediate and Advanced Competitions of 2010. Recently, one of the upcoming 2010 Juniors Competitors broke his leg but is still planning on competing.

15 Year Old Australian Wins Free Trip to U.S. Juggling Competition

The World Juggling Federation holds an annual Juniors Sponsorship Video Competition and offers a free trip to the convention as the grand prize. This year, Cody Harrington from Australia won first place in his last eligible year of his life. “It’s been my dream to come to the WJF and compete but being in Australia it’s too expensive. Winning this competition is a dream come true! It has been the biggest thing my juggling has won me, it has changed me as a better person and friend, and given me the confidence to do anything. “
Cody Harrington will compete against other junior competitors from the Czech Republic and the United States on Friday, July 23rd, 4pm at the Riviera Hotel’s Royal Pavilion rooms 5-8 in Las Vegas.

New Aggressive Team Sport
The Most Dangerous Juggling Ever

Major League Combat pits teams of five three-club jugglers against each other with only one objective - destroy the opposing force’s ability to juggle. Zombie Combat, Sumo Combat, Kill the King, and 360s Combat comprise the four different game play formats in this tournament elimination style competition. Major League Combat is a new event this year. “We’ve held trials in Brooklyn NY, Rochester NY, and Washington D.C with great responses from players and spectators. I think this is going to become big and get more people interested in learning how to juggle.”
- Jason Garfield, World Juggling Federation President. Major League Combat will debut on July 24th, 2pm at the Riviera Hotel’s Royal Pavilion rooms 5-8.

Health and Fitness - Juggling Scientifically Proven to Build a Bigger Brain

It’s a fact - learning to juggle increases white and grey matter in the brain - the parts responsible for processing and storing visual information and increasing the pathways in the brain. Just some of the many benefits to juggling in addition to increased dexterity, eye-hand coordination and exercise.
“Knowing that pathways in the brain can be enhanced may be significant in the long run in coming up with new treatments for neurological diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, where these pathways become degraded.” - Dr. Heidi Johansen-Berg. To help spread this brain building exercise, the World Juggling Federation is offering free juggling lessons at WJF 6.

The World Juggling Federation was founded in 2000 by Jason Garfield, a prominent figure in the juggling community both for his instructional videos and controversial performance style. The WJF strives to promote the sport of juggling to the world while providing new sponsorship and endorsement opportunities for its competitors.
