UIPM World Cup Final Moscow, Russia

After 5 gruelling event around the world the top 36 Men and Women have qualified for the World Cup Final to take place in Moscow, Russia on 19-20 June 2010.

After 5 gruelling event around the world the top 36 Men and Women have qualified for the World Cup Final to take place in Moscow, Russia on 19-20 June 2010. This is a unique chance for the athletes to stamp their authority on the Modern Pentathlon World leading into the World Championships.
2009 Champion's and current World #1's Adam Marosi (HUN) and Donata Rimsaite (LTU) will be looking to defend their crown and cement their position as the world best. However Marosi will be pushed to the limit by David Svoboda (CZE) who goes into the event with the most points from the 5 World Cups and veteran, Olympic Silver Medallist Andrejus Zadneprovskis (LTU) who accumulated the second most. 

Rimsaite who will be looking to create history and win 3 straight World Cup Finals will again continue her famous duel with Olympic Champion Lena Schoneborn (GER) who has remarkably won 3 of the 5 World Cups this year. Also in contention for the Gold is current World Champion Qian Chen (CHN) who had a successful return from injury at World Cup #5.

The Russian Team will very strong, headed by Double Olympic Champion Andrey Moiseev and World Cup #5 Champion and World #4 Ilia Frolov, also the tours in form athlete Rookie Aleksander Lesun who has won 2 medals at his first 3 World Cup's. The Women's teams hopes will be pinned on World #3 Evdokia Gretchichnikova who will be looking to continue her strong 2010 form.

Fans around the world will have the chance to watch these and other great athletes and share in the excitement of Modern Pentathlon. The UIPM will broadcast the finals LIVE on Internet TV at pentathlon.org on 19 and 20 June at 16:30 local time (GMT +4 hours). The broadcast will feature highlights from the fencing and swimming events as well as live coverage of the riding and combined events.
