A sports investigation boutique law firm will provide university officials and attorneys with strategies to address high-profile student-athletes and NCAA infractions decisions.
Pompano Beach, FL, May 26, 2010—(Sports Features Communications)—The pending decision of the NCAA Committee on Infractions in the University of Southern California enforcement case involving former stars Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo is the focus of a sports investigation boutique’s College Sports Coffee Break Workshop. The workshop’s two programs will be conducted on Friday, July 23, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon PST at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott. The workshop’s two sessions, “Implications of NCAA Infractions Decisions on Universities” and “USC-NCAA Investigation: Strategies to Address High-Profile Student-Athlete Issues”, will provide participants with an overview of investigations of alleged NCAA rules-violations at colleges and universities, including cases involving high-profile student-athletes. Participants will be able to use the workshops to develop legal and compliance strategies to meet NCAA standards. The seminar will be conducted by experienced college sports professional Michael L. Buckner, an attorney and licensed private investigator with the Michael L. Buckner Law Firm.
The workshop, featuring a PowerPoint presentation and detailed written materials, will review: the NCAA enforcement process; important decisions from the infractions committees; and best practices to address high-profile student-athletes.
The State Bar of California has approved 1.25 total participatory MCLE credits (no ethics) for attorneys attending each program (or 2.50 credits for both programs).
The July 23 sessions will cover the following topics:
Session One: “Implications of NCAA Infractions Decisions on Universities”. The workshop will assist general counsel and higher education professionals with identifying, as well as developing solutions to minimize legal and rules-compliance challenges concerning, high-profile student-athletes.
