TAMPA/LONDON/BERLIN, May, 21: The fourth leg of the KB4girls 2010 World Tour took part May 18th to 20th at the Red Sea destination of El Gouna/Egypt.
Participating girls traveling from 9 different countries and 4 different continents came in to join the event in the lovely resort area also known as the Venice of Africa.
Taking part within the calendar of the 3rd annual Kite Jamboree Festival the three day girls only event added special charm and value to this major event that also included demos of the latest kite gear, fun competitions, a beach fashion show, parties and more.
With wind over 30 knots the conditions for the female kiteboarders however were not the easiest possible. On day one KB4girls organizer and trainer Kristin Boese and the participating girls stayed on the beach and focused on technique and other learning methods taking advantage of the situation. There was plenty of knowledge to be passed on for new trick ideas and style enhancement.
On the following two days of the clinic and after a thorough IKO safety briefing and squeamish safety check the girls went to ride after all. They ended up withstanding the extreme conditions with bravura, most of them still learning many new maneuvers and all of them improving their riding.
Ingrid Van der Heyden, participant: "I am so happy, I landed back flips and one foot jumps and proved to myself that I can ride in conditions like this. In Thailand we never get strong winds so I had never used a small kite like this before. I was a bit nervous in the beginning but am very glad we went out in the end."
"This group of girls was very special and only because they paid such close attention and I knew I could rely on them I went out with them in the strong winds. It has been an intense 3 days for me and of course I was very attentive until the very end. But somehow the extreme conditions really bonded us together as a group with everybody being there for each other making it a very special KB4girls event for me." says Boese.
A big thanks goes to Red Sea Zone, the Kite Jamboree event, photographer Dave Cooper, the Captains Inn hotel and El Gouna for their support.

About KB4girls
KB4girls is a non-profit worldwide clinic tour for female kiteboarders that was launched in November 2009 by Kristin Boese. While the tour gives female athletes from around the world the chance to get together for a fun time together it also motivates them to push their kiteboarding skills to the next level and possibly start to compete in kiteboarding.
Another goal of the KB4girls events is to support the Surfrider Foundation Europe and the protection of the oceans and beaches. While registration fees are being donated to the Foundation educational materials are being supplied in return and given out to all participating girls, teaching them about their precious playgrounds and how to possibly help to protect them.
