Japan Bid Committee to Focus Exclusively on 2022
Proposes 13 Candidate Stadiums
Tokyo, 11 May 2010 - Japan’s Bid to host the 2018/2022 FIFA World Cup today announced the 13 Candidate Stadiums and 64 Team Base Camps that will be included in the Bid Book.
The Bid Committee also announced it will focus its efforts exclusively on bidding for the 2022 tournament. This decision was announced today at the 2nd full meeting of the Japan 2018/2022 Bid Committee and the Japan 2018/2022 Administrative Council.
The Bid Book will be presented by Motoaki Inukai, Chairman of the Japan Bid Committee, to FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter at the Bid Book Handover Ceremony on 14 May. The detailed hosting plans of Japan’s Bid will be made public at a press conference taking place at Japan Football Museum on Monday, 17 May.
