2010 UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Cup #4 Hungary

The 2010 Modern Pentathlon World Cup Series continues with World Cup #4 taking place in Budapest, Hungary on 6-9 May 2010. 9 out of the top 10 ranked men (78 in total) and 7 out of top 10 ranked women (67 in total) competing.

The 2010 Modern Pentathlon World Cup Series continues with World Cup #4 taking place in Budapest, Hungary on 6-9 May 2010. 9 out of the top 10 ranked men (78 in total) and 7 out of top 10 ranked women (67 in total) will be competing which guarantees a scorching, high quality event.
World Cups 1-3 all resulted in different Champions from different nations. They were:

World Cup 1: World #2 David Svoboda (CZE) and current Olympic Champion Lena Schoneborn (GER).
World Cup 2: World #3 Edvinas Krungolcas (LTU) and World #3 Evdokia Gretchichnikova (RUS).
World Cup 3: World #1 Adam Marosi (HUN) and 2007 & 2008 World Champion Amelie Caze (FRA).

All these athletes will all be favoured to double up their wins from their respective World Cups in Budapest.

However, newly crowned World #1 and the tours inform athlete Donata Rimsaite (LTU) will be pushing for gold in the Women's event, together with World #4 Aya Medany (EGY).  Double Olympic Champion Andrei Moisseev (RUS) and his team mate, 2008 World Champion and World #3 Ilia Frolov (RUS) will be hoping to bounce back from their poor start to the season and get onto the podium in Hungary.

The Hungarian's will field a typically strong team and will be in the hunt for medals in both the Men's and Women's competitions. Their big hopes will be World Champion Adam Marosi and Peter Tibolya in the Men's event and always consistent Leila Gyenesei and Sarolta Kovacs in the Women's event.

Fans around the world will have the chance to watch and share in the excitement that will be World Cup #4. UIPM will broadcast the finals LIVE on Internet TV at http://www.pentathlon.org on 8 and 9 May from 16:15 local time (CEST, GMT +2 hours). The broadcast will feature highlights of the fencing and swimming events as well as live coverage of the riding and combined events.
The Budapest World Cup is the fourth in a series of six events in the coming months which will culminate in the World Cup final to be held in Moscow, Russia on 18-20 June.
