Come Play! this Australia Day

The ‘2018-2022 Football Ferry’ will take to Sydney Harbour tomorrow for the annual AAMI Ferrython, part of Sydney Festival’s annual Australia Day celebrations.

Competing for line honours with three other ferries, the ‘2018-2022 Football Ferry’ will sport a giant 5 metre high ‘Come Play!’ kangaroo on the ferry’s rooftop and be dressed from top to toe in Come Play! signage.

“Australia Day is a fantastic celebration of all the great things about being Australian - and what better way to promote Australia’s bid for the FIFA World Cup, than by participating in this uniquely Australian activity in an iconic Australian location,” said FFA CEO Ben Buckley.

The ferry race will start at Fort Denison, then take in Shark Island, Nielson Park and Bradleys Head. The winning ferry is the first to pass under the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Guests board the ‘2018-2022 Football Ferry’ at Circular Quay Wharf 4 at 10am 26 January 2010.  The ferry race starts at 11am (Fort Denison), and is due to finish approx 11.45am (Sydney Harbour Bridge).
