Accreditation process is open for ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in UAE

Interested media should send applications to lucy.benjamin@icc-cricket.com by 26 January

The accreditation process for all members of the media intending to cover the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier (WT20Q) 2010 will close in EIGHT days.

Members of the media who wish to carry out their work at the event are urged to submit their applications before the close of business on Tuesday 26 January 2010 (Dubai time).

The event from 9 to 13 February will take place at two venues, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai Sports City and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

The ICC WT20 Qualifier involves two groups of four teams with Ireland, Scotland, Afghanistan and the USA making up Group A while Kenya, the Netherlands, Canada and the UAE will fight it out for supremacy of Group B.

On offer will be two places in the ICC World Twenty20 2010 to be staged in the West Indies. Both finalists from this event will qualify for the big one which will take place at Barbados, Guyana and St Lucia from 30 April to 16 May.

For organisational purposes, all media representatives intending to cover the ICC WT20Q 2010 must apply for accreditation. Please reply as soon as possible by email to Lucy Benjamin (lucy.benjamin@icc-cricket.com) with the following information:

   * Name and job title
   * Organisation (please clarify if it is a newspaper, magazine, radio, television or a website)
   * Country
   * Matches intended to cover
   * A passport-style photograph in jpeg form

In due course, journalists will be informed about the status of their application. Please note that it may be necessary to provide proof of identification as a working journalist and a letter of authorisation from the editor or sports editor of your organisation.
