Talking football with Mark Bresciano

"We already held Olympics, which I was part of, and I’m sure we’d do a good job."

Qantas
Socceroo Mark Bresciano has been involved in Australian football’s most
prosperous era, but hosting a FIFA World Cup on home soil would be the
absolute pinnacle.

“What more can
you ask for? To host the FIFA World
Cup and bring the whole world into our country would be
huge,’’ Bresciano tells
www.australia2018-2022.com.au -
the website to support Australia’s
bid for the 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup™.

“It would be a very big achievement for Australia, the absolute
maximum. We already held Olympics, which I
was part of, and I’m sure we’d do a good job. From an athlete’s point
the Sydney Olympic Games were unreal,’’ he
added.

With
qualification secured for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Bresciano
knows the key is to get another good season under his belt and be sharp come
June 2010. He has started most of
Palermo’s matches in a season where expectations are again high – and after a
sluggish start, the team rebounded in October to climb into the top half of the
table. But
in the meantime, Bresciano will be focused on helping
the Qantas Socceroos qualify for the
2011 Asian Cup.
