Special Olympics Florida Fall Classic

1,300 Special Olympics athletes converge on Orlando and Disney for State Championships, October 30-31.



WHAT: The 2009 Special Olympics Florida State Fall Classic.  This is the fourth year that the Fall Classic will be held in the Orlando area and the Classic is the second largest Special Olympics event held in Florida, annually.


WHEN: Friday and Saturday, October 30 – 31, 2009


WHERE: Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex, AMF Lanes in Kissimmee, FL and the World Bowling Center in Orlando.


WHO: Over 1,300 Special Olympics athletes from throughout Florida will take part in this two-day event.  Athletes of all ages and skill levels will compete in the State Championships in bowling, powerlifting, gymnastics, and softball. The event will feature Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as Healthy Athletes, Special Olympics’ program of free health screenings in multiple disciplines for its athletes.
