COLORADO       SPRINGS, COLO. - The United States Olympic       Committee (USOC) today appointed Patrick Sandusky as its Chief       Communications Officer (CCO). The former spokesperson and Vice       President of Communications for the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid,       Sandusky’s Olympic experience includes key roles with two bids over       the last six years and strong international sport and Olympic       Movement ties. “We       are delighted that a talent of Patrick’s caliber is joining the USOC       team,” Streeter said. “His many years of experience with       the Olympic Family through the London and Chicago bids, with sponsors       of international sporting events, and his broad media background will       be invaluable in assisting the USOC to navigate the challenges and       opportunities ahead.”

Prior       to his time with the bid, Sandusky was vice president of H&K’s       sports marketing practice. He managed large-scale, multinational       communications programs for both the Chicago and London offices. “I       am looking forward to the months ahead, working closely with the USOC       leadership team as the organization moves forward with preparations       leading into the Vancouver Games,” Sandusky said.

Sandusky       will serve in the position of Acting Chief Communications Officer       through the Vancouver Paralympic Winter Games.
