Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to Travel to Copenhagen to Push Chicago 2016’s Olympic Bid

Duncan to join WH Delegation led by the First Lady

WASHINGTON – Today, the White House announced that Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will travel with the United States Delegation to Copenhagen in support of Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Secretary Duncan will join Mrs. Obama in attending the 121st International Olympic Committee Session at the Bella Center at the meeting that will elect the host city for the 2016 Summer Games.  

Duncan, a native Chicagoan, will join the United States Delegation to support Chicago’s bid and the opportunity to bring the 2016 Summer Games to the United States.

More details about Secretary Duncan’s schedule will be released when they are available.
