Meeting of the FIFA Executive Committee in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)

Men’s Olympic Football Tournaments and 2009 and 2010 FIFA competitions on the agenda

The FIFA Executive Committee, chaired by President Joseph S.
    Blatter, will convene in Rio de Janeiro
    (Brazil) on Tuesday, 29
    September 2009 for its third meeting of the year. The agenda features a
    wide range of topics, including the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament and
    the 2009 and 2010 FIFA competitions.
   

 

   

At this meeting, the Executive Committee will appoint the members     of the working group to consider the eligibility criteria for players     participating in future Men’s Olympic Football Tournaments. The committee     decided to create this working group at its last meeting.

   

 

   

The committee will also receive reports and updates on : 

   

  •        the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009;       
  •        the other 2009 FIFA competitions, including the FIFA U-20 World       Cup Egypt 2009, which will kick off on 24 September;       
  •        the preparations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ –       including the   Final Draw scheduled in Cape Town on 4       December – as well as the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™;       
  •        the FIFA Medical Conference taking place in Zurich on       17-18 October       2009;       
  •        FIFA’s transfer matching system.
