NEW YORK – September 2, 2009 – Tiger Woods (No. 1 in FedEx
Cup standings), Phil Mickelson (No. 10), who won this event in 2007,
and the defending champion Vijay Singh headline a field of 100
competing in the Deutsche Bank Championship from TPC Boston in Norton,
Mass., the second of four events in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedEx
Cup. NBC Sports presents live coverage Sunday from 3-6 p.m. ET and
Labor Day Monday from 2-6 p.m. ET. NBCSports.com, in partnership with
PGATour.com, will offer additional coverage including highlights of
every round during the rest of the playoffs.

NBC Sports is presenting three of the four playoff events—next
weekend the BMW Championship from outside of Chicago as the field is
cut to 70 and Sept. 26-27 with the final 30 players competing for THE
TOUR Championship in Atlanta and the crowning of the third FedEx Cup
champion. Tiger Woods was the inaugural FedEx Cup champion while Vijay
Singh won last year.

Host Dan Hicks and analyst Johnny Miller, in their 10th season together
as NBC Sports’ lead golf commentators, anchor NBC’s coverage from the
18th-hole tower. Hicks and Miller are joined by tower reporters Gary
Koch and Bob Murphy; on-course reporters Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing
and Dottie Pepper; and interviewer/essayist Jimmy Roberts. NBC’s
coverage is produced by Tommy Roy, one of the most nominated persons in
the history of the Sports Emmys.

and he cares even more when the best players in the world are assembled
as they are in these events.”
