MADRID 2016 PRESS CONFERENCE

Gallardón will lead the “One month from Copenhagen” press conference in Madrid

The Mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, will lead a press conference, “One Month From Copenhagen”, which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 2 September at 17:00 hours CET.  The press conference coincides with the publication of the IOC’s Evaluation Commission report and is exactly one month until the final vote by members of the IOC in Copenhagen.  Chief executive of Madrid 2016, Mercedes Coghen, and other members of the team will also be present.

 

The IOC’s report will be based on visits by the Evaluation Commission to the four cities bidding to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games: Chicago, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid.  The visits took place in April and May this year.

 

The press conference will be held at the Pavilion in the Cecilio Rodriguez Gardens of the Retiro Park. The venue’s access is through the Puerta de Granada, in Menendez Pelayo Avenue (in front of number 67).
