Draw for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009 to be held on 27 August

The draw for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009 (UAE) will take place at the Al Habtoor Gran Beach on Thursday, 27 August 2009

The draw for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009 (UAE) will take place at the Al Habtoor Gran Beach on Thursday, 27 August 2009 (22.00 local time, 20.00 CET) under the patronage of his Highness Sheik Handan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council. Salah Tahlak LOC Tournament director and Joan Cusco, Member of the FIFA Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee will also attend the draw ceremony.

 
The draw will determine the fixtures for the group stage of the competition, which will be played in Jumeirah beach from 16 November to 22 November 2009.

 
14 of the 16 teams participating in the tournament are already known: United Arab Emirates who have qualified automatically as the host country; Ivory Coast and Nigeria (African zone); Italy, Portugal, Russia Spain and Switzerland (European zone); Costa Rica and El Salvador (North, Central America and Caribbean zone); Solomon Islands (Oceania); Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay (South American zone). Two more countries representing the Asian zone will be known later.
