Yankees captain and star shortstop will sit down for a one-on-one on a special edition of “Ripken Baseball” live on MLB Home Plate channel

NEW YORK – June 5, 2009 – SIRIUS XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that New York Yankees captain and star shortstop Derek Jeter will sit down for an exclusive one-on-one interview on a special edition of SIRIUS XM’s Ripken Baseball, the weekly show hosted by the Ripken brothers - Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Jr. and veteran major league infielder Billy - this Monday, June 8.

The interview will air live starting at noon ET from SIRIUS XM’s Midtown Manhattan studios on MLB Home Plate, XM channel 175 and SIRIUS channel 210 with the “Best of XM” programming package.

Jeter, a nine-time All-Star and four-time World Series champion, joined the Yankees in 1995 at the age of 20 and has batted .300 or above in 10 of his 15 seasons in the major leagues.  He was named the 11th captain in Yankees franchise history in 2003.  Jeter has won the American League Rookie of the Year Award (1996), three Silver Slugger Awards (2006-2008), and three Gold Glove Awards (2004-2006). In 2000, he became the only player history to win both the All-Star Game MVP Award and the World Series MVP Award in the same year.

In 1996, Jeter founded the Turn 2 Foundation to create and support signature programs and activities that motivate young people to turn away from drugs and alcohol and “Turn 2” a healthy lifestyle.
