CHICAGO 2016 ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL SPORTS PRESS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONGRESS

Chicago 2016 bid leaders travel to Milan, Italy, to meet with international press

 

CHICAGO (April 29, 2009) – A delegation from Chicago 2016 will attend the 72nd Annual International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Congress, April 29 through May 3 in Milan, Italy. Chicago 2016 Chairman and CEO Patrick G. Ryan, along with Director of Sport, Venues and Operations Doug Arnot, Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay, and United States Olympic Committee First Vice President International Robert Ctvrtlik, will attend the event to discuss Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

 

“We recognize the importance the media has on the Games and promoting the Olympic Movement and feel that our plan takes their needs into account,” said Ryan. “This congress is a unique gathering of such a diverse group of influential international media and we look forward to discussing our bid and all that Chicago has to offer in 2016.”

 

A variety of events are scheduled for attendees of the conference, including a Gala Dinner hosted by the 13th FINA Champions – Roma 2009 which will be held on Wednesday, April 29. AIPS will also host a visit to the Monza Racing Circuit on Saturday, May 2.  Following the visit, there will be a tour through the most famous sites in the city center.
