FIFA asks for a minute“s silence

In memory of the persons who lost their lives outside of the stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on 29 March 2009

FIFA has today asked all member associations that are scheduled to hold their next match for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ preliminary competition on 31 March and 1 April 2009, to observe a minute’s silence prior to kick-off.
 

The minute´s silence is a mark of respect for the African football family and in memory of the persons who lost their lives outside of the stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on 29 March 2009, ahead of the preliminary competition match in the same competition between Ivory Coast and Malawi.
