The one-hour program presents a compelling look at the annual CHIO Aachen – World Equestrian Festival in Germany. Aachen has been a major fixture on the international equestrian calendar for over one hundred years.
“With the ongoing economic downturn, with entertainment and recreational costs soaring and with so many people out of work, it was important that we create an opportunity for this program to be seen and enjoyed by people from all walks of life,” says Producer/Director Melvin Cox.
“In presenting a look at the most storied of international equestrian tournaments, ‘The Spirit of Aachen’ speaks to our natural desires for renewal, order, excellence and success – while celebrating the horses, riders, drivers and vaulters who compete at Aachen. The documentary also carries strong undercurrents that speak to creativity, perseverance and multiculturalism,” says Cox. “It is an uplifting story that we can all embrace…”
“The Spirit of Aachen” will be shown in the CBC Auditorium (Room A106) on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), at 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17th.
