Rodriguez & Galvez Line Up In Guatemala

 

Top seeds Miguel Angel Rodriguez and Eric Galvez will contest the final of the Internacional Sporta Open after contrasting semi-final victories in the $15,000 PSA Tour squash event in its second year at Sporta in Santa Catarina Pinula, Guatemala.

 

Colombian Miguel Angel Rodriguez needed four games to overcome his second Salazar twin in 48 hours.  After beating Cesar Salazar in the first round, the top seed from Bogotá defeated Arturo Salazar, the fourth seed, 11-9, 11-13, 11-9, 11-9 to reach the 17th Tour final of his career.

 

It was also a Mexican/Colombian clash in the other semi - but this time it was a Mexican success as second seed Galvez despatched unseeded Bernardo Samper 11-6, 11-8, 11-6 to earn his 16th appearance in a PSA Tour final.

 

The final will mark the pair\‘s eighth Tour meeting since September 2005 - but their first since contesting the Mexico City Open final in December 2007.  Galvez will be looking to reduce the Colombian\‘s 5-2 head-to-head advantage.
