Boston University Remains No. 1 on USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll

For the third straight week,the Terriers top the poll.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boston University retained the No. 1 ranking on this week\‘s USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men’s College Hockey Poll, following a series win in the Hockey East quarterfinals against the University of Maine this past weekend. For the third straight week and seventh time this season, the Terriers topped the poll, accumulating 495 points and 19-of-34 first place votes.

The University of Notre Dame remained in the No. 2 position with 491 points and the remaining 15 first-place votes, while the University of Michigan (436) stayed at No. 3 for the fifth straight week. Meanwhile, the University of Denver (396) and the University of North Dakota (368) each moved up one position to round out the top five.
This week\‘s action features three set top-15 match-ups in league semifinals on Friday (March 20), including a showdown between cross-town rivals, No. 1 Boston University and No. 15 Boston College. There is also the possibility of top-15 match-ups on Saturday (March 21) in the league championships.
NOTES: The University of North Dakota is ranked in the top five for the first time since October 6, 2008 ... A total of 20 teams received votes.
ABOUT THE POLL: The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
