PLAYERS AT ALL-STAR HIGHLIGHT AIR THUNDER SHOW
Weekly Magazine Show goes behind the scenes with Durant, Green and Westbrook at All-Star Weekend
Oklahoma City, Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 – Oklahoma City Thunder players Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook will be spending this weekend in Phoenix, Ariz. for NBA All-Star festivities. The three are scheduled to play in the Rookie Challenge – a game where the NBA’s top second-year players play the NBA’s top rookies. However, there is much more to their weekend than just that game.
On this week’s edition of Air Thunder, the weekly magazine television show presented by INTEGRIS Health, the official health care provider of the Thunder, follow the three Thunder players as they make their way through the high-profile, media-frenzy All-Star weekend. Air Thunder airs this Monday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. on KSBI 52, Thunder TV (Cox Channel 9 in OKC). The episode will re-air on Tuesday, Feb. 17 before the Thunder’s game vs. New Orleans 6:00 p.m. on FOX Sports Oklahoma (Cox Channel 37 in OKC).
Also in this week’s show, go inside the Thunder’s newest community outreach program – the Rolling Thunder Book Bus, sponsored by American Fidelity Assurance Company. The Rolling Thunder Book Bus will travel to Oklahoma City schools, museums and community organizations to deliver free books to children. The renovated school bus will be hard to miss in Oklahoma City as it’s been re-painted in Thunder colors and logos. The Thunder’s Read-to-Achieve program will also be featured in this week’s show as Thunder players D.J. White and Kyle Weaver took time out of their busy NBA schedule to read to children at Highland Park Elementary school in OKC.
Thunder players Chucky Atkins, Jeff Green and Kyle Weaver also discuss their Black History memories as Air Thunder salutes Black History Month in this week’s show.
The show is hosted by the Thunder’s sideline reporter Brent Weber, and the entire Thunder broadcast team of Brian Davis, Grant Long, Brent Weber and Matt Pinto are also regular contributors to the show. Along with the features below, Pinto will review the week that was in the NBA.
